Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity saw victory slip away on Saturday when a seven-run second inning lead disappeared after a furious charge from Williams Field, who ended up with a 13-12 win at Red Mountain Park.

Solis recorded the win for Williams Field. She allowed four runs over zero innings. She struck out none, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Williams Field was sparked by Catstro and Coluin, who teamed up for 10 hits and eight RBIs.

Rene Burkland took the loss for Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity. She lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The top of the first saw Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity take an early lead, 6-0. Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity’s rally started when Lizzy Cartwright singled. A stolen base then moved Cartwright from first to second. Marlee Pieper doubled, bringing home Cartwright. Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity pushed more runs across when McLeroy scored on an RBI single by Rachel Burkland, Pieper scored on an RBI single by Samantha Beard, Burkland and Beard scored on a two-run triple by Merlanja Garcia, and Garcia scored on a groundout by Jazzmyn Bradford.

Williams Field survived Deer Valley Skyhawks Varsity’s surge and put up seven runs of its own in the second. Williams Field scored on an RBI triple by Catstro, an RBI single by Coluin, a two-run single by T Boone, and a two-run double by Nancey.

Williams Field got two-run rallies in the third inning and the sixth. In the third, Williams Field scored on a two-run single by Boone, scoring S Solis and Catstro.

It didn’t take long for Williams Field to answer as it scored one run of its own in the seventh. Williams Field scored on an error.
